By Air: Oakland or San Francisco Airports are served by all the major and low-budget airlines. Oakland has a large Southwest Air facility. The trip to Sausalito from either airport by car is approximately 45 to 60 minutes, although traffic from Oakland is generally less of a problem and the rates into Oakland are generally lower. The Marin Airporter from San Francisco makes its first stop in Sausalito, and you can get a taxi to the Ameer. Although we recommend a rental car if you want to enjoy the natural beauty of Marin County or the Wine Country, you can get by on foot in Sausalito - or San Francisco by catching a ferry, an easy 30-minute walk from the Ameer.
